  • Program NotesExperience a rare one-hour immersive live session with Tracy Yang and her 17-piece Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Pinch Recording in Long Island City, Queens. In a borough with a deep and vibrant jazz history, this session is part of keeping that spirit alive and exploring where it can go next. This project is partially supported by the Queens Arts Fund of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). For the first time, Tracy will lead the ensemble from the piano, joined by some of New York's finest musicians, performing new works alongside selections from her previous album OR. The session will also be livestreamed, connecting with audiences around the globe across different time zones and offering a way to support the project from wherever you are. Limited seating available.Tracy Yang is a Taiwanese jazz composer, pianist, bandleader, andproducer based in New York, known for her distinctive voice in writing for large ensembles. Her work has been recognized across the United States and internationally, marked by a strong sense of cultural identity, vivid melodic lines, and an expressive, empathetic musical language. Her debut album OR received the Golden Melody Award for Best Instrumental Album Recording (2025) and the Golden Indie Music Award for Best Jazz Album (2025) in Taiwan. Her achievements include the Charlie Parker Jazz Composition Prize (2021), among many other international honors and recognitions. Yang is also active as a pianist in the dance field, collaborating with leading institutions and artists, and is dedicated to building meaningful connections across disciplines, nations, generations, and diverse cultures.
